Iran female director honored in Tehran

Puppeteers’ Association of Iran has honored Iranian director Marzieh Boroumand.

The Puppeteers’ Society of Iran has honored Iranian director Marzieh Boroumand.

Marzieh Boroumand was granted the medallion of Iranian Theater Forum during the annual General assembly of the Puppeteers’ Association of Iran on Wednesday.

Boroumand directed Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Festival for three years.

She was born in Tehran on June 7, 1951.

Boroumand graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran.

She made her cinematic debut with one of Dariush Mehrjoui’s films.

Boroumand has also appeared in various movies and TV series such as ‘Tehran License Plate 11’, ‘Hodhod Bookstore’, and ‘Nothing’.

Boroumand also directed several movies, including ‘City of Mice’ and ‘Sweet Jam’.
